Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.
Here’s a big list of all of my favorite stuff.
Multimedia tools
Dive+
The Dive+ app made the blues and greens in my dive footage look vibrant and true to life. It looks as professional as the underwater productions, using its advanced AI color correction.
Ultimate Guitar
My instructor mentioned Ultimate Guitar, a tab site for finding community-contributed tabs for almost any song. The audio playback, and visual aids playing music by the Cranberries are effective for self training too.
Development tools
Quokka.js
Quokka.js is a real-time code editor for Javascript and Typescript. It gives me feedback on my code as I type and debug code. Experimenting with tricky logic is fun with instant feedback. Easy install in my vscode IDE, then just code and see the output right in the editor!
Wallaby.js
Wallaby.js is the best at running your tests as you write and edit the code. The results display right in the editor. Really useful for catching bugs and instant feedback on the code and test performance.
Smart Home & Automation
Hue Lighting
At the touch of my fingertips, I can tweek the ambiant lighting to suit the seasons or holiday themes. I can choose green and red during Christmas to tropical Cancun-inspired colors in the winter.
Collaboration Tools
Loom
I just discovered Loom. It looks pretty cool. It can create video-based messages to share ideas, tutorials in a fun, visual, engaging way. It has the potential to reduce the need for lengthy meetings or emails by streamlining communication.
